Oh! I'm finished book 2 and the author is still working on book 3! Hurry up Patrick! This book started a bit slowly but then really got cracking to the point where I had a deep sense of foreboding and dread towards the end that something horrible would happen to a main character. Can't wait for the next book.

The writing is great, the characters are well developed, and the individual stories are fun and varied. However, I found that it didn't develop the "present" as well as it could, and didn't connect the two timelines enough.
I'm also very sad that this won't get finished....
