“because the only difference between a suicide and a martyrdom really is the amount of press coverage.”

What a mess !
I started reading this book one year ago but i felt bored with the first fifty pages..the author is Chuck Palahniuk ! So I decided to read it.
Are we destined or we have the choice ?!
Tender Bransaun is a member of Creedish church which is a death cult .. I founded nothing about this church .
He never thought or asked about church beliefs why he does all this rituals but many of us never think about religion .. May be because we have learnt that religion is divine we must not think about it which is not true and not right.
Back to Tender , he found himself at age 17 working as domestic servant dedicating his earnings to the church ..
I liked tha fantasy story of Vertility Hollis also liked these very true honest thoughts of Tender when he adviced hopeless people to commit suicide .. Life really is miserable
Fame and Religion were the main novel topics ... Fame trade , how to make a star , how to earn from him and to keep it ..
Religion should be logic should convince its followers but on the other hand follows should think and consider it .
Quick events make you pay attention to it
You just find at the end that we are living in a crazy mess . Sad shocking novel.
Three stars for the idea , flashback and the characters but I didn't like narrative way and i felt bored of the too many cleaning ideas .Also Adam's notion about how to cure Tender !!!
Disappointed with my first reading of Chuck...

This was a high speed, non stop, nonsense story. It was crazy, weird, I didnt really like it but it's hard to put it down. The way the writing flows is hard to describe. There are no natural pauses, no paragraphs, no chapters. Hours could go by and I would still think, well I'll just finish this thought. But the thought never finishes, it just turns into something else.

I gave it 3 stars for the ease of read and the capture it had. But maybe just a star or two on content.

Biting wit, shocking scenes and a stark commentary on our vacuous modern priorities frame this story about a survivor of a suicidal religious cult. Perfect and brilliant and not for the easily offending or those with weak stomachs. I loved it.

4.5/5 Really good. Almost as good as Fight Club.
