Overall, I've really enjoyed the original trilogy (and plan to read the sequel + prequel next) and felt quite attached to many of the characters. I liked the beginning and middle of the book and raced through it but felt a little sad that this book was over so quickly, given the build up to the main events that had been brewing since the first book. I agree with previous reviewers who thought that the ending felt rushed and somewhat convenient, and I was disappointed in Kaede's storyline given her character development in Grass For His Pillow, but if it was to be this trajectory then I'd have liked her to have been given more airtime at least, particularly during events at the end of the book.

That said, I'm still looking forward to the next couple of books to round off the whole Otori series and will be sad to let go of the characters when I'm finished.

J'ai beaucoup aimé ce tome et qui se trouve être le dernier que j'ai en français, je vais continué mais en anglais même si on peut bien s'arrêter ici. Maintenant, je vois pourquoi tout le monde aime cette saga.

This is the third book in the Tales of the Otori, which I started so long ago I couldn't remember the beginning. And then there were so very many characters, and they were all over the place, and everything moved extremely fast in the story.

All of that made it hard for me to love this book, although it wasn't all bad. I did like the setting and the writing itself.
