I might be new to gamer romance, but this was not my first and definitely wont be my last masked man romance.

Aleks/Blade and Stevie had some intense chemistry from the moment they met. I loved that a meet cute for Aleks and a meet cute for his masked gamer identity, because it is one of my favourite parts of any good romance novel.

I also love the premise of this found family-style friendship and the hidden identities, you get to know so much about these boys, that I already can't wait for their books, but I can tell that we still have so much to learn about Parker and Jackson too!

This was such a well-written debut novel, it definitely felt like there were moments drawn from the authors experience, because Stevie's character felt so genuine, her inner monologue felt like gossiping with a friend. Stevie's family is also Greek - and it was cool to see that so naturally embedded in her character.

Oh, and the spice!! Between the public play, the dirty talk and Blade leaving the mask on *che'fs kiss*

(side note: because I was asked on another platform, yes the fmc does have a somewhat overlapping relationship with both the masked and unmasked identities of the mmc)

I absolutely adored this book! The characters chemistry was so good and the balance between plot and spice was perfection!!
“Then beg.”
“I just spent the last hour watching you being paraded around on the arm of another man. He was acting like you’re some shiny trophy when you’re a queen. My queen.”
“Now get on your knees and show me how well you can suck this cock.”

I really wanted to like this and support Madison, but I can't continue reading this book.

Besides the insta-lust/love, multiple spelling mistakes, and lack of plot; the smut and dialogues were so cringe...

Fun debut novel

The System #1. First gamer romance . . . but it was so fun. I liked all three of the main characters, so many fun fashion and food references, the spice was spicy, there was an added mystery. Main complaint is it feels the main characters could have been more developed, but overall still really enjoyed

Good Game is a spicy romance, which follows popular gamer & streamer NightBlade32 and Stevie Andwell, a girl looking to get over her cheating ex-boyfriend. I really liked the FMC Stevie, I enjoyed her personality and thought her character was fully realised. Blade, otherwise known as Aleksander, is apart of a trio known as The System, and he is the perfect MMC, he treats Stevie so well in my opinion. The spicy scenes were so good, they were written very well.
The main part I didn't particularly enjoy was Stevie getting to know Aleksander and Blade separately and obviously dating both at the same time. I did feel like the penny dropped at the right time for Stevie but I wanted the realisation to happen a bit earlier. There is also a side mystery plot that was quite predictable but it added plot into the book.
I think Madison Fox has written a very successful debut novel, this is a brilliant gamer romance and it has set up to be a really good trilogy series. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the books planned and getting to know the other two members of the System.

I. loved. this!

Seriously. I did. I was looking for something spicy, something cute, something fun and it's all in here. The characters have so much personality and I adore all of them! (Except for one or two, iykyk). Characters are such an important part of a book for me and I immediately fell in love with Aleks and Stevie, so it's a win for me.

I'm always a bit wary around books that include games/gaming as a gamer myself, mostly because it can be a little cringy or just straight up wrong. I have to admit, there is a later part in this book that felt a little cringy (I hate using that word, I apologise) with all the gaming lingo being used in real life, it just wasn't for me. Other than that, I really loved it! I thought that the lingo was otherwise used really well and it did make sense so shoutouts to Madison for that.

Debuts can be rocky but I honestly think this one is very solid. The writing was nice and fast for me to read, the storyline is good and consistent and I loved the spice in here!! It was honestly one of my favourite parts.

Overall I had a really fun time. I definitely recommend this if you want a fun, fast and exciting romance. I will absolutely be picking up the next book, I'm already looking forward to it.

I did a reread of this book, cause I saw that book two had come out so I wanted a refresher on The System, Aleks and Stevie's story was so good, I honestly forgot how much I adored this story. It had me a bit on the edge of my seat which who was sending the roses. I loved there fast paced story and honestly just them insta-love they kinda had. I love that he just wanted to spoil her and PUTTING ON HER HEELS!!!! Just oh my god, get me a guy who puts on my heels and buys me a dress in his signature color. I honestly can't wait to start book 2.
