Absolutely devoured this book! Callum and Bella are the absolute best! Their story is so deeply engraved within each other that it’s heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I felt the pain and love so deeply for each of them. I couldn’t stop reading and I waited so patiently for the second book!

Not for the faint of heart

This was way darker than I was expecting but I always say the darker the better so I’m happy I stumbled across this! His Hollow Heart gave off Beauty and the Beast vibes except the beast is a psych0päth dead set on getting his girl back.

If you like dark romance with possessive men and $tälker/Cäptívê vibes this is for you!

Spice is around a 4/5

Tale as old as time? Not when Rachel Leigh gets a hold of it, instead you get something totally new and fresh that is going to leave you craving for more!

In this first book in the Fallen Kingdom duet we meet Bella and Callum, two people with a history and hopefully future. Not that we will figure that out with this book, because yes it does end with a cliffhanger, so be prepared! I was not, mainly because I read EVERYTHING Rachel Leigh, I always go in blind and I have yet to regret it.

Rachel has a talent for giving us characters with such life and depth that they are so much more than merely characters in a story. Bella and Cal are filled with emotion, and hurt, but within that emotion we get to see how they can help heal each other.

If you like books with some drama, a whole lot of heart and the perfect amount of heat then grab this one, you are not going to regret it!!

Bella and Cal
Dark romance, second chance, virgin FMC.
The first thing you need to know is this is a 2 part series. I thought everything would be all wrapped up in one book but nope.
The second thing you need to know if you’re unaware is that this is dark romance and definitely has nonconsensual encounters.‼️
Cal informed Bella he was going to have sex with her very early on so the fact that he acts all distraught by the fact that she was a virgin is unlikely.
Why does his attorney act as a personal assistant?
It’s definitely got suspense and mystery and there’s a decent amount of spice too. 4🔥
A couple things that bothered me- at one point she says Cal’s not a rapist but he literally assaulted and raped her. At another point, she says she’s never seen a dead body, but she saw her mom’s when she was 4.
Sometimes you hate Cal and sometimes you’re rooting for them to get together.
Didn’t really want to read another book with all the same people but I think I’m going to have to so I know how it ends!

Okay Story

The blurb for this story really piqued my interest, and I was anxiously awaiting its release. His Hollow Heart is packed with suspense, and it's definitely dark, no if, but or maybe. When Callum and Isabella were younger and lived in an orphanage, they made a pact to always stay together until Kingdom. Isabella broke her promise, and after 12 years, Callum found her and was determined this time around, he was never letting her go. When Isabella comes face to face with Callum, she realizes he's nothing like the boy she once knew, he is tragically and utterly damaged, and something dark resonates within him.
I enjoyed the suspense and mystery in the story, and the past was integrated into the present very well. The reader was not left confused, and it was pretty exciting to read as things unfolded and built up between Cal and Bella. I felt that the story lacked angst and the secrets and lies weren't that exhilarating.
The steam, tension and chemistry were excellent.....my pulse was racing. I love the surprising twist.... I totally was not expecting what happened, and now I have to read book 2 in the series to find out what the heck happened to the Callum.

This book is definitely one of my favorites of Rachel Leigh. Whether she writes a high school bully romance or a dark enemies to lovers book this author always keeps me on the edge of my seat while reading and always draws me in with her books.

Gahh all the emotions I felt while reading this book. I was taken and pulled in so many different directions while reading this book.

Cal and Bella’s story has everything so much pain, heartache, etc. There was so much tension, chemistry, and drama between these two.

This book was fabulous it had so much mystery from last to present. It will make you have flip through the pages so quick to see what happens next.

And gahh that cliffhanger at the end. I can’t wait to read the next book.

*I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
