My twelve year old son and I enjoyed reading this together. We immediately went to the library for the next book in the series!

I thought this second book in the series was much more predictable than the first. It relied heavily on items from Odysseus' journey for story elements. It was interesting and engaging but not as fun as the first as I am familiar enough with the Illiad for the book to lose the elements of surprise that I enjoyed in the first book. Still, this is a fun book and I'd highly recommend it as a means to teach Greek mythology to kids who haven't been exposed to it. It would be a good book for discussion of themes as well.
