These are so enjoyable, and despite the fact that I didn't listen to this campaign when it was first broadcast on The Adventure Zone podcast, I still understood and enjoyed it. The characters are distinct and different, I laughed out loud, and they remind you it's a D&D campaign in subtle ways that even non-gamers will appreciate.
I felt the mystery solving wrap up was a little fast, but that could have been the nuances of an RPG to Podcast to graphic novel translation, or maybe I wasn't paying attention at some key point. At any rate, these are fabulous - buy them to read and RE-read.

Hilarious and fun but just didn't have the same feel as the first. Still good though.

Yet again, another great adaptation. Carey Pietsch's illustrations were even more outstanding than the last, and she once again nailed it with the perfect visualizations of the settings, characters, and actions. Despite this arc of the podcast taking place in one location most of the time, Pietsch was able to provide the visual variety needed to keep the reader optically entertained.

This is exactly what all of us needed. I can almost hear the McElboys in my head as I read through it. It’s a beautiful addition to first graphic novel. I loved all the details that Carey put into this. Even when the image pans out and shows you a large and gorgeous landscape you can see little scenes of people living in this world in the background.

I can’t wait for the third installment. I hope she goes full Fast and Furious.

Reason to read this book: You love a good whodunnit book or you read Here There Be Gerblins.

Favorite character: Either Jess or Ango. Their character designs were on point and the story wouldn’t be the same without them.

SoooOooo gOoOod!

I miss Tom Bodett but it was really good!

I think I enjoyed this arc better then the first comic because I knew what to expect in the differences from the podcast. I had also heard that the ending was different to make the comics more cohesive as a story. I think I worked out great and I love Merle and how he is drawn.

Also Jess the Beheader is so cute!

So much fun! Gonna hold off on the rest of these until I finish the podcast, but seeing the story in book form was so cool. I appreciate all the tough calls to change story beats and jokes for a non-improvised, written setting. This is a really cool example of storycraft and medium shifting.
