Definitivamente este me gustó mucho mas que el segundo y es que en mi corazón hay un lugar seguro a todos esos padres y madres que ponen a sus hijos primeros ante todo (como debe de ser) y este libro es muy tierno y me hizo muy feliz.

3.5 stars

This book would've gotten 4 stars or 4.5 even if it hadn't been for the woman's weird mindset. I mean, I completely understand the position she is in and that it is awful and confusing. But still, I felt like she was as stubborn as an ass with a blindfold on -it made sense in my head.

Really liked though, aside from that part.

This could have been a runaway train if Katelyn hadn't been so "prejudiced" against Harrison. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the last 30%. If Heidi would have given Katelyn's fears and immaturity 30% of the book instead of almost 60% it would have been a 5 star read for me. I prefer less angst/drama or at least things to look like they will have an HEA a bit sooner. I just felt the H/h were all wrong for each other because of Katelyn's thoughts/actions. It was difficult to get past.

I really like this book. I want to give it 4 stars instead of 3. Harrison is every teenager's book boyfriend. Loyal, quite, gentle and loving. He can take a punch too.

His relationship with Quinn is sweet. He is a perfect father figure. What makes me sorry for him is Katelyn. I wish a stronger heroine for Harrison. Katelyn is selfish, needy and frustrating heroine. I do not like heroine who is judgemental. After all Harrison done to her and her twins, she can be more compasionate and at least listen to Harrison.

Her act of not trusting Harrison is the reason I give this book 3 stars. What a pity. If only the heroine can be much better.

More like a 4.5 or maybe 4.7

I adored Harrison. Like so much. And Quinn is a cutie, just like dad.

Harrison has fallen for Liam and Josie's best friend Katelyn.
Katelyn is still mourning the loss of her husband and fighting her interest in Harrison.

Harrison is a good protagonist. He is a great, steady and capable father to Quinn, his son thrust upon him by his mother who had drugged and raped Harrison.
Katelyn is struggling and sometimes difficult to like as a heroine. Her daughters aren't coping with Mason's death, especially Peyton who was closer to him that Katelyn. Elle seems to be doing better than her twin but she latches onto Harrison quickly, which suggests she probably isn't coping as well as Katelyn thinks she is. Peyton takes a while to warm up to Harrison and it isn't until he helps her through an issue at school that she smiles a happy smile.

Sam, the bands former manager, is predictably lurking in the background and making waves.
It was not that much of a surprise that Sam orchestrated Harrison's drugging and rape. I had hoped she would have faced more consequences than a restraining order and paying restitution. She should have gone to jail alone with the woman who perpetrated this against Harrison.

Katelyn believed Sam and Alicia's lie too quickly to be realistic. She and Harrison were moving along in their budding relationship quite well, too well for Katelyn to simply blindly believe a doctored photo and made up story. But she did.

I'm not a fan of the wall punching these guys do when they are facing emotional turmoil. I did enjoy Harrison showing his emotion and crying, it's not something often seen with romance protagonists.

Quinn was a great character, I sometimes forgot he was only eight years old. He seems like a boy who really wants a Mom and was hoping Katelyn would take the job. He is protective of the twins and comes across very well rounded for a kid whose spent a lot of time on tour with the band.

I enjoyed this instalment in the Beaumont series.
