Interesting and easy read. Good lessons on the value of sweating the small stuff and preparing for emergencies.

This is a great bed time read for both adults and kids. I liked how Chris wrote about astronaut work (that’s naturally intimidating) in a way that is not too technical for the reader and you could easily imagine everything in your mind like you would other novels. You’re able to see his experiences in “his perspective” and surprisingly it’s a humble, relatable place. He is an impressive man with impressive achievements, yet you can still feel his childlike wonder until the very end. Great life lessons in there too like “sweating the small stuff” as opposed to irresponsible positive thinking; and being a “zero”. Although not straightforwardly mentioned, I think the lessons revolved around manifesting your dreams and working towards it, discipline, responsibility, and stoicism/emotional intelligence. And I just needed to say one last thing: what an awesome family this man has: from his wife to his kids. A great life indeed.

Not really a guide to life on Earth and a rocky first half as a biography, the book is redeemed by the virtue of Hadfield's unique experiences

A good combination of autobiography, life lessons and fun facts/technical details of being an astronaut.
