Lenora Bell is a new to me author, and this is the second book I've read by her. I enjoyed this one a little more than the first book and thought it was very well written. I was captured by Thea and Dalton. I loved Dalton's character a lot, especially when Thea compared him to Robin Hood. I do wish I would have seen a little more of Dalton being the Hellhound, but I still loved the banter between Thea and Dalton. The story captured my attention, and I didn't want to put this one down. I even lost a little sleep reading it. I do think Dalton didn't do enough groveling at the end to win Thea back, but I still enjoyed this book regardless. Overall, I do recommend this author and this series.

Dorothea does not wish to be married off. She is tired of parading through the season trying to catch the eye of some man who will then direct the rest of her life, may cheat on her if he wants, and most likely make her life miserable. She wants to be a spinster and retire to the wilds of Ireland with her aunt. She wants to research a female painter that she does not believe gets the recognition she deserves. When she finds a painting in a "closed" house in Ireland she is determined to get the owner, a Duke, to allow her to catalogue all of the artwork in the house. Being the only daughter, there is no reason to worry about endangering anyone else's prospects. But her mother & grandmother could care less what she wants.
Dalton, the Duke of Osbourne will never marry. His secret life is way too dangerous to bring a wife into. He is determined to find the man that killed his younger brother years ago and drove his mother to become agoraphobic. When Dorotha plows into his life, he cannot wait to oust her.
I loved the way that Dorothea stood up to the Duke. When she took the place of his Masseuse, I laughed out loud. She really has his number.
I also loved the side characters. I hope that Molly has or gets a book. I want to know if she gets her dream.

I loved these characters. I enjoy that so far, this series has had a major romance and a minor romance in each one. My chest definitely got tight quite a few times because there was so much pain in the past for the OTP. Hard not to root for them to make it, though. There's not a lot of sex, but what there is is steamy and worth it.

Loved this story. Beautifully written and I absolutely loved the plot twist. Did not see it coming. Looking forward to the next story.

The last quarter of the book seems rushed and I didn't like the contrived conflict but I did enjoy the first parts and it did entertain me, so I'm good.

Strong second book in the series. Female MC doesn’t want to marry a duke or anyone her mother chooses for her. She just want her freedom and to live in the country in Ireland. She can’t do that now that she’s the most eligible bachelorette after one dance with the male MC. To right this most grevious wrong, she made him promise to take her back to Ireland. On the road trip, sparks fly and ladies get compromised. I would’ve like a little more groveling at the end but ohhhhh there was a plot twist I didn’t see coming
