Nicholas sparks used to be my favourite author, man how that has changed. I no longer enjoy reading about unrealistic romantic relationships. The main female character kept mentioning she had a boyfriend every two seconds but didn’t find it hard to cheat on him, I’m sorry but I don’t condone cheating.

Nicholas Sparks sure has a way of hitting you in the heart. I can honestly say, his books always leave me wanting more and desperately wanting a boyfriend haha :P but the point is. this book is fabulous. I loved it i loved it and i love it more. this book left me utterly speechless and filled with so much hope and enthusiasm. It's a great feeling when you read a good book and you feel energized after you do. i totally recommend it!

This was the first Nicholas Sparks book I've ever read. My cousin Billy recommended the movie to me on a flight back home and I didn't even realize I'd had the same story sitting on my shelves since I graduated high school, 6+ years ago.
Most of the passages were simplistic yet strung out for all they were worth. Sparks could have made this novel like 100 pages shorter. There was no need for separate parts, either, since the second part wasn't fleshed-out at all. I'm unimpressed... and possibly no longer within the target audience range in which Travis and Gabby's "relationship" is something to fantasize about, or whatever.

I like Nicholas Sparks books, but this wasn't one of my favorites. I liked the idea behind the book, but it was a little too "convenient" in the end. Worth the read if you like his other books, but it just wasn't at the top of the list for me.

This book was...interesting. I love Nicholas Sparks, and I love most of his novels. I read this book because of the new movie coming out, and I loved the first half. I adored Travis and Gabby's relationship, and if the whole book had been like the first half, it would have gotten five stars from me. I got slightly bored in part two of the book, only because it became tedious.
The actual story didn't become tedious; I was actually on the edge of my seat for most of it because of Sparks's superb writing. Travis became the tedious part. I loved him in part one, but in part two he became incredibly annoying.
He had a reason to be, but he was so annoying that I couldn't attribute it all to his situation. Something about him and his characterization just got under my skin for the majority of part two.
Disregarding that, I loved the story of this novel. It was fantastically plotted and wonderfully written. Excluding Travis, every character seemed to grow and I loved all of them. It's a great read for romance fans and I can't wait for the movie.
