This was one of those books that's just a balm for a tired soul. I kind of hate that I read most of it while I was out and about because it made me so emotional. I wish I could've cried over it properly. A beautiful book that I'm gonna track down a hard copy of so I can highlight and post-it note to my heart's content. A beautiful book.

This book reached in, grabbed child me by the shoulders and said “I see you and you can be you. You do not have to fold into society’s expectations of who you should be or what you should look like.” I am ever grateful that Ivan Coyote took the time to write this set of essays, and I will be saving a special spot on my bookshelf specifically for this book.

This book is heavier than I expected from reading some of their earlier stuff but it is so important and so well put together. I loved it.
