Predictable. It wanted to be suspenseful, but the story was so short that none of the tension built appropriately.

Good, quick read. Ryker is amazing and I wish I could find him in real life and make him mine.

An enjoyable story, with very likable characters and lots of promise for the rest of the series. However I did struggle to believe in the development of the relationship between Ryker and MaryAnn maybe because it was a novella, I don't know but for me something didn't click and although they had a lot of history I just felt like the I Love You's were a little rushed, but honestly that was my only issue with the story. Overall it did hook me in, kept me engaged and I felt the author did a good job portraying a difficult subject.

I love second chance romance. There's just something about a hero/heroine finding love with the one person they thought they lost. This story is the perfect example. Ryker in a police officer in NYC when he runs into the girl who he thought he lost when he was 13. Mary Ann is a wounded soul struggling through an abusive marriage. When she runs into Ryker she starts to get the courage she thought she lost a long time ago to take her life back. Ryker never stopped loving Mary Ann and he won't stop until he knows she is safe and HIS.

These two won my heart. Ryker is the younger of 5 brothers and a twin sister. He is from a family of law officers and he really knows how to treat a woman with love, honor, and respect. He puts all that into Mary Ann and makes you love him even more. Mary Ann's struggle pulled at my heartstrings. I feared, loved, worried, and hoped for her. In the end I was happy and satisfied. Now I'm looking forward to reading about the rest of the Cunningham brother's and the women they fall in love with.

I loved Ryker, such a good read!!!

This is the first I have read of this author and I am in love with her writing! This was a shorter read, it gripped me from the beginning and I did not want to put it down. I fell in love with Ryker from the very beginning and cannot wait to get to know the rest of the Cunningham brothers more. MaryAnn proved to be a strong character, maybe even surprising herself at times. It also had an edge of suspense that I loved. The book is written in their dual POV and contains some heavier issues. This book can be read as a complete standalone.

* I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Words can not describe how much i am in love with this book.
I want to shout from the roof tops, telling everyone to get onto this.
But then I'd have to forbid anyone for falling so easily in love my Ryker.

K Langston has got to be one of the authors that i fall fast and hard for her writing.
A book that captures you so tightly that you don't want to leave them.
What would happen if i left them for a minute? a second?
Pandemonium that's what.

Ryker and MaryAnn are a couple that are so easy to love that you just go with it.
Ryker and his family are everything that i love in a book.
Strong ties.
Alpha as shit.
Family loyalty.

I could go on forever about this book and not get tired.

What else can i say?
Other than buy this book.
Fall in love. (Not with my Ryker. He's mine.)
Finish the book.
patiently wait for the next one.
Repeat the process for the next 5 books.

Didnā€™t love the book but didnā€™t hate it either. I received this book from a free ebook service and liked that it was a quick read with good characters and steamy enough sex scenes. I realize the intent of the author was to write a novella but this book seems very unfinished. Itā€™s hard for me to believe MaryAnn can go off happily ever after given all she went through with Trent. Was thankful he ends up dead. That is the main reason I gave this 3 stars instead of 2. **Trigger warning: domestic abuse and September 11th**
