i really tried to love this. but honestly… nothing really happens plot-wise and the story is very dragged on. the characters, although endearing, felt sort of… flat. i was exhausted by the end of the book because i kept hoping it’d improve and surprise me based off the relatively high praise and reviews i glimpsed at, but it never happened for me.

I don’t know what’s in this book, but it is crack. You know when you have read a good, like a really good romance novel where the story, the chemistry, just everything hits right. Yea, this is one of those. One of those romance books that comes along every once in a. Blue moon that is just so good you’re sad when it’s done because nothing will make you feel like that again.

I adored this book so much.

Great book and story. It was definitely longer than it could have been, there was a lot of filler. And there were many times I got tired of the phrases and language the author used. I think you might die if you drink every time “as it was” was said. And there were a few other terms like that that got a little frustrating.
However, the acting in the audiobook was really fantastic and I appreciated the world they lived in the book where there was a woman president in the past and where it was a bit more easy for Charlotte to go into politics being a lesbian.

Very cute and i felt emotional many times during this book. Especially considering the outing and pain that many lgbtq+ people have to deal with in their careers.
