This was an action-packed fantasy with a unique premise that played out in a really explosive cinematic way. I loved the found family vibes and the clever way the reveries came to life, but I clocked the villain as soon as they appeared and I found them a little too archetypal/caricatured at the end. On the whole though, this was a fun read and a solid fantasy.

Interesting worldbuilding/magic system. A bit confusing in the beginning but it clears up pretty quickly. The action sequences are a little hard to follow at times but not to a distracting degree.

I wish we'd gotten to see more of the relationship development between the characters. I felt it relies a little too heavily on the fact that Kane had relationships with these characters pre-amnesia and we didn't get to see enough of them re-becoming friends again
