Excellent manga telling of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime. As previously stated in my Volume 1 review, it's great to savor the story.

In decentralizing the lead from Shinji, a great clarity of purpose appears for each character, much more direct in their pathos than what the anime limits to shown action. The puberty thematics become much more blunt, Eva in all forms thematically interested in its characters learning to pilot themselves, and seeing the more gossipy school side more often affirms a reading I've always had that the maudlin meandering of the show is Shinji-imposed. If only he looked at the world differently.
