A funny and entertaining book. I've had this book for over 10 years and have re-read it at least 3 times now

Book #1 of Historical Romance Readathon March 2020. Book by Johanna Lindsey and Scarred Hero.

My first Johanna Lindsey! I really enjoyed her writing. I really liked Stefan and Tanya. I liked their banter and chemistry. The first 200 pages I couldn't put it down, but the last 100 pages dragged a little. I don't like misunderstandings as a plot device (and they happen OFTEN in romance), and them not believing she was NOT a whore was frustrating. The misunderstandings should have been resolved more gradually instead of the last 10 pages of the book, but I still enjoyed the ride.

Definitely will look forward to reading more from her.

SEXUAL ASSULT IS NOT ROMANCE
RAPE IS NOT LOVE

A better ending for this book would have been the main character slitting her own throat before being captured by this disgusting pig. A good ending would have been her ritualistically cutting his dick off and sacrificing it to Athena

I could rant about this book for hours but what is the point? Please don’t read this especially if you’ve experienced sexual violence.

This was a very engaging and quick read! While starting out in America, it moves into Europe by the end of the story. It is the tale of a very feisty heroine and her match from an arranged marriage. It is interesting to see how falling in love softens both of them and smooths out the rough spots in each of them. I especially enjoyed the assassination plots, as they lent an air of suspense to the story. All in all a great book and one worth re-reading as the mood takes me!
