This story started off strong. I was so intrigued about where it was going and how it would turn out. I was able to figure out some of the mystery early on and wasn’t too shocked by the big reveal. Which I felt happened to early, causing the last several pages to drag. Overall, I enjoyed it but happy to move on from it, too.

This was a wonderful, well-written thriller. I absolutely loved the story, and all of the twists. It was heartbreaking, moody, and mysterious. I found it dropped off a bit in Part 3, but I loved the ending.

I really liked this book! It has a good story, but it was the relationships that really made the book for me.

This book was getting a lot of hype when I decided to read it. I wish I liked it, but I truly found the plot and characters quite thin, and very lazy.

Owen's note is vague, without really needing to be. Hannah remembering two weird conversations about Texas and going there with Bailey on a whim is a bit drastic, but sure, people behave oddly in high-stress situations. What seemed a little too convenient was that she actually found answers there, because that trip was entirely dependent on luck.

We never find out why Owen trusted the detective and no one else. We don't know what caused the leak. Hannah's decision not to go into witness protection without so much as consulting Bailey undoes what little character development she's had over the book, and really, what sane adult would take her chances with the mob just so a sixteen-year-old girl doesn't have to start fresh? Not to mention that decision eliminates any chance of her seeing her dad again.

The pacing was good, I'll give it that. But it's not something I'd be in any hurry to recommend.

Highly enjoyed this slow burn of a quick read, does that make sense? Fans of domestic thrillers will dig this.

Very interesting story of a family and dealing with a stepmother who is literally perfect. The story has many twists but so well written. The stepmother and daughter are believable. Well written.

I don't think this book is exactly what I was expecting but it was still pretty good. The characters were mostly very likeable. The plot was exciting yet easy to follow.
