This finally came in from the library. It did not blow my socks off like the first one did. My first thoughts on this series: Yay! Originality! Succubi! That's so uncommon and cool!

...

My thoughts now: Bleh. Get over yourself. Who cares about Seth? Please be more interesting. Why are you not as cool as Rose or Eugenie? Rose was kickass. Eugenie was kickass. Both have awesome retorts and interesting plot lines. The Georgina Kincaid books are repetitive. i.e. Georgie whines about Seth. A mystical mystery ensues on the side. There is enough of a cliffhanger or interesting thing at the end that I read the next one.

I actually think this is a four and a half star book. I love this series. It may be my favorite but them I think that when I read any of my other series too so who knows. Lol.

*****Spoiler Alert!!*****
Georgina and Seth finally did the dirty!! More than once.

Okay spoiler over. Georgina on a downward spiral since the breakup with Seth in the last book. She is doing a booming business, enough so that Jerome has decided to loan her out to a rival demon who needs some help. He is exiling her to cold north, well okay maybe not so cold Vancouver. She is infiltrate a group of "zealots" that are making Cedric look bad.

Jerome disappears and with it the things that make her and the other lessor immortals what they are. The vampires can suddenly go out into the light, Hugh can no longer see auras and Georgina no longer sucks someones soul. The vampires are thrilled being able to go out in the sunlight. Hugh is not happy he misses his abilities. And Georgina is concerned about Jerome, she knows something is wrong. She is the only one that is willing to go look for him.

It dawns on Georgina when she sees Seth that there are things they couldn't do before that they now can. Enough on that one spoiler a review. Georgina starts off on a journey of discovery and snooping. Along the way mysterious and strange things happen. Faces from the past show up and adventure goes on.

This book made me happy and it made me sad. But it ended like a fairy tale and I have hope for Georgina's future.

I have to keep reminding myself that these are NOT good people, so I shouldn't be surprised by their actions anymore. UGH I hate cheaters.

The Georgina Kincaid series had gotten hard for me to read, because i was so gun ho over Georgina and Seth them breaking up made me biased on the books. Well in this one it was easy to get into because Georgina and Seth had another chance, granted it was temporary but still it was awesome. And this was all possible because Jerome, her john cusack hottie looking boss went missing, and when he went missing all his charges abilities went POOF. The vampires got to play in the sun, and Georgina could touch a guy without sucking out his life force. But Georgina being Georgina, couldnt sit back and let Jerome go, or risk being the charge of another higher demon, so she went and searched for jerome. this book is all about hidden lusts uncovered and tried, deceptions all over the place, and maybe some new formed alliances.

I liked this book, but I didn't like it for reasons that relate to Seth. Seth, though I understand why he did what he did in the end, really pissed me off. Plus he also made me sad when I found out he is no longer such a pure soul. The reason I liked this story was because of the plot. When Jerome goes missing and Georgina has to find him, that is why I liked this installment in the series. It was a mystery that only Georgina wanted to figure out, and the characters it brought together was truly shocking. Figuring out the mystery of who took Jerome was fun and intriguing, and that is why I really liked this one. Plus it was pretty sweet, the end, I mean. It was a great addition, and I can't wait to read the next!

4 down, one more to go before the last one comes out.

I still love Georgina... and Seth, I mean my goodness! He's why I added a'my lovers' shelf onto Goodreads. He's so sweet and gentle, but also fierce and sexy. I love him.

Surprisingly one of the reasons I like this series is because it lacks a 'bad guy'. Sure there's Niphon, he's a real jerk. But I just don't count him, because he feels like a bit of a joke. The ones you'd think would be bad guys are actually really pretty 3 dimentional. I really care about Dante, and I feel bad for the life he's created for himself. His feelings for Georgie were genuine. Roman, well I thought that I didn't like him but he really redeemed himself in this one. Not necessarily as a romantic hero, but more as a character. In the first book I never thought that he had much depth to him. He seemed very generic, the same man who's in most romantic books. But in this one I thought he was more original, and I've started to care about what happens to him. I feel that there's more to Jerome too, I actually really care about him. This series has a plethora of strong characters that are neither purely good, nor purely bad. Thats why I love it.

Moving on to book 5 right away!

Again, I'm amazed by how much I love this series.

The Gameboard, Kincaid and Markham books are what I love about Mead.

She's at her best when she's writing for adults.
