the beginning wasn’t my favorite, but it kept my attention and made me feel for the main character.

This book was okay. I enjoyed it, but it was kind of boring at some times. It just didn’t give the typical feel of a summer romance which is what I wanted but it was alright nonetheless and I liked the characters together. This book also kind of put me in a slump for a few days because I tried to read it a few times but just couldn’t focus on it because it felt like it was just dragging on.
There was also a subplot of like family history and like a murder that happened to someone in the main character’s family a long time ago, but I really didn’t care for it much. It was boring and I couldn’t bring myself to be interested in it. That was more of the boring parts of the book. A good idea though. 3.5 stars

It has been a long time since a book gave me what I needed and I felt the characters so deeply. Longing for an off grid island to give me what I need.

Thanks to Netgalley for a review copy of this book.
Claudine Henry’s life is uprooted when her parents get divorced and her mother whisks her away to an island off the coast of Georgia for the summer right after her high school graduation. She is separated from her best friend and all that feels comfortable and familiar. This is a beautiful coming of age story about friends and first love.

Quelle erreur !
**Personnages**
