I did not want to put this book down at all - I'm completely obsessed with it. It is a mix of some of my favorite series - Hunger Games, Divergent, A Court of Thorns and Roses - and then adds DRAGONS.

I can't wait for the rest of this series to come out.

Overall I really enjoyed the story. As my first fantasy book, I found it very easy to understand the world building and although there were quite a few characters, I didn't find it difficult to remember them all. I wish it would've gone into Xaden's perspective a bit more as we mostly saw their relationship through the eyes of Violet; In particular, I wanted to get more insight into what Xaden was thinking when he first saw Violet and how his feelings towards her have changed throughout her story (but from his perspective).
