Much better than ACOTAR, frankly. Better written with no weird stock phrases that are used over and over again. Not only that but the world building is great, the pacing is fantastic, and there were moments I got actual chills. Rare with this genre!

Well, what can I say.... Fantasies are not usually my go-tos and I was leary for the first third of this book, getting lost in the dragon/ward/powers terminology. BUT as the plot drove forward it all started making sense. I became invested in the Xaden-Violet love (lust?) plot. And the ending just set me up to want more! Give it a try!

Not to sound basic, but it’s great. Super fun. It’s a popcorn book - super fun but not a lot of substance. Great for when you’re just looking to turn your brain off and want  something fun.
