This was the first book I've started and finished in the same day in a very long time; very readable and keeps you guessing. It got pretty weird and confusing about halfway through and I almost put it down, but the change in storytelling serves a purpose and the book finishes pretty nicely, if closure/having all the answers isn't important to you.

Woah...I didnt expect that at all. There was so much going on just- there are so much things I love and so much things I hate and they all tie up. I cant find a good reason in my standards to not give this book 5 stars.
...
COVER Simple and pretty. I love how it connects to the story.

PLOT Impressive. Usually, when I read thrillers and mysteries, I quickly get an idea of who is behind it; who's the person we seek. Here I changed my mind so many times and I was sure in so many people. All wrong. This plot caught me off guard and kept me wondering and guessing till the very end. Even tho I wasn't really surprised that
Spoiler Delia is alive and I definitely wasn't surprised at the feelings they share, I was constantly curious and confused about her motives. Delia had me all trapped in her mind games, wondering what to believe and what to not.
Truly amazing and captivating plot with lots of twists and turns to keep you on the edge. Just when you think you've figured out something, new things come up. It's mindblowing.

CHARACTERS
SpoilerJune. Poor little thing. I get her. I can relate to her somehow. Especially with the whole worshipping toxic best friend thing. But I don't like her for how stupid she can be. How quickly she gave up on her boyfriend for her manipulative best friend. Such a spineless creature. Although I like that the author mentioned how she's insecure about her looks and size when she's pretty. We don't see that often.
Delia. I hate her! I hate her so much. Nasty manipulative bitch. She deserves to be dead. She deserves all the bad in this world. I can't believe she ran away to her new life with the girl at the end.
Delia's ex could've been crazy from the loss but he didn't deserve that end.
June's ex. I liked him. His only mistake was not telling the whole truth to June. But he didn't deserve to be treated this badly, almost killed and humiliated by the rumors.
From Delia's four (?) new friends I really liked the guy who slept with June. He really liked her and wanted to protect her. I shipped them but of course, June had to go with her shitty best friend.
Spoiler

OVERALL I hate the characters but I love the story, the twists and turns. It was interesting and I couldn't put the book down.

Honestly, this was super entertaining. I thought it was a fun book to read. However, it felt like there were three different plots crammed into one and nothing felt very finished, especially the ending. The ending was extremely underdeveloped, and I would've loved it if the author had made the book just a bit longer.

So why did Delia want to kill her stepfather, we know it wasnt rape but that he screamed at her mom a lot so the abuse he gave her mom? Why even fake your death, there was no reason to do so? What happened to Junie at the end? What happened to these fucked up kids?
This book ended with more questions then it started with. Add a bland protagonist whose too trustimg and just a little dumb, put it with a crazy chick that makes no sense, a boy who because he's had such a good life it seems to be fine to just destroy it according to the protagonist although he really didnt do anything that wrong, a murder mystery that turns out to a fake out and that ending, I cannot give it more then 2 stars despite it really holding my interest throughout.

june doesn’t believe that her ex-best friend, delia, really burned herself to death in her stepfather’s shed. positive there’s more to the story, june sets out to find delia’s killer. but she soon realizes the truth is much more than she anticipated.

the potential was there but this book just didn’t quite reach it. a lot of parts just didn’t make sense. i didn’t really care for the plot twist or what came after. plus, it’s mentioned that one of the side characters, who is “gay,” (the word lesbian is not used) had sex with a guy out of pity? however, the beginning and the very end were pretty interesting.
