It’s hard to know whether you’re rating the subject matter or the writing with a book like this. I do think the author did an excellent job making this an interesting read rather than just a factual regurgitation of the story.
I will say, you are probably not prepared to read the start of the book. I was audibly SOBBING for several parts.
But then there were so many beautiful moments. I loved this book even though there were horrible parts. I also liked how much information you get about dogs and dog behaviors. So good.

extremely weak writing. extremely repetitive. too many names too many people involved but that doesn't mean they all have to be mentioned one by one including their backgrounds unrelated to the case.
glad I was introduced to this issue but I'd rather get my time back and read an article about it in one go instead
