This book was very informative and full of incredibly valuable information for couples. I think that the knowledge it imparts is important - I had a terrible marriage counselor who tried to explain these ideas to me, but failed. Reading the actual book itself made it make so much more sense to me. My complaints are that it is VERY focused on cis binary folks who are married (whereas I think it is applicable to all relationships.)
There is one other part of this book that irks me, which isthat there is one relationship brought up that appears to be abusive - mentally, verbally, and emotionally; and I would have suggested the person being abused leave. The author does not, and instead advises trying to change the person through acts of love. While in their instance it actually worked, I think it is a fine line to walk and could potentially be dangerous.
