The illustrations in this book will appeal to younger readers, but the text is more appropriate for older readers, so I'm not sure if it would find a wide audience in a classroom or school library. If I read this out loud to my students I think they would quickly become bored because it is so text-heavy.

This is the second book in the Leaders Doing Headstands series that I've read, but I didn't enjoy it as much as [b:When Amelia Earhart Built a Roller Coaster|28962375|When Amelia Earhart Built a Roller Coaster|Mark Weakland|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1495808491s/28962375.jpg|49189203]. The illustrations are definitely more cartoon-like in this volume. I did like seeing Martin Luther King, Jr. as a young boy and I think kids will, too.
