I’m so thankful Bob narrated the audio himself- it brought all the comfort of being home sick and turning on the tv just in time for Price is Right. While the actual book lacked a little organizational clarity, the stories were all fun and added layers to an icon I adore.

This book is full of Bob's stories from his life on tv as well as his life with animals... and his sense of humour in his story telling makes for some funny moments.

I tried to remind myself that this book is Bob Barker's story and that he isn't a seasoned author... but I found it repetitive, a bit boring in parts and kind of choppy in it's writing style.

I thought the book was okay, and that was really all I expected from it in the first place.

It was a great, quick read, told in Bob's voice.

This was a pleasant, quick read about Bob Barker's life. I especially enjoyed the chapters that went into detail about his experiences working on game shows, and his tireless work in the field of animal rights is inspiring. The sections on his childhood and personal life are a little dry, however, and there was no mention of the controversy surrounding him and several former models from The Price is Right.

I'm surprised he had any help on this book, because though I obviously do not know Mr. Barker, I feel like the book is all his writing. It reads like he is talking right to you, it's not pretentious at all and feels like he just wants to tell one of his friends the story of his life. It could use some editing as it jumps around a lot and mentions a few things more than once, but maybe that feeling of just shooting the bull is what the publishers were going for. An easy read that makes you realize the incredible life he's lead, including time in the navy, the 37 years he spent married to his wife, Dorothy Jo and where his deep compassion for animals came from. Makes me want him as a substitute grandparent...I'd like that a lot.
