Ok the first book was really bad too but in a kind of entertaining, so bad it’s kind of fun way. Like bad TV. This book was just really bad and really boring. Can’t believe I read most of this. Will not be continuing.

THAT ENDING THOUGH

I can't get enough of this series. The banter alone in this book had me grinning and giggling throughout, the story progression had me on the edge of my seat, and the character development was so beautiful. On to book #3!!

Hawke: Tu violencia me excita

I think I love Kieran. He is the best "male best friend character" I have ever read. He is so funny, while also being a total badass. I love that there is no judgement, he is weary of Poppy but still there to listen and help her. Even if he complains about every single question that comes out of her mouth. But he knows to listen, and to joke with her, and to help them learn. I love that he sees the heartmates and tells them. No beating around the bush.
Poppy and Casteel and of course end game on couples. I love how he encourages her to be her full self, and I love that she does not deny herself power and the ability to stand up for herself. That scene in the dining hall where she finally stand up for herself and realizes she has dropped the veil finally! She kicks ass, she protects everyone, and she is also so incredibly funny and kind. And Cas is best of the best. So witty and understanding of Poppy's past struggles, even though he was a captive for sooo long. I love how we get to know them so much in this book and the surprises just keep building to that kicker of an ending. Immediately started the next one.
