This book is interesting, it’s a love story of a different kind and I’m not sure if I like it or not!
The MC’s were interesting and I like how they both had their own struggles. It’s was good to find out about their past in relation to their now & to hear about their hopes and dreams.

"There's more than one way to be happy in this life." - The Sight of You by Holly Miller.

To say that this book is heartbreaking is an understatement. Yet I have always loved poignant romance novels, so I knew that I had to get my hands on it.

The story flows, so it goes. Joel is a former veterinarian who keeps to himself, refusing to bond with others or build relationships, and thrives on late nights of writing in his black leather notebook. Yet Joel does this to protect others, because Joel has a secret - he has prophetic dreams of the people he loves. As a result, Joel dreads forming attachment to anyone he meets, in fear that he would love them, and end up knowing more about their futures than he would like. Things start to change for the better - or perhaps, worse for Joel - when he meets and starts to fall for Callie.

This story makes me think - would you want to know more about your future, or be kept in the dark about what lies in store. Joel wrestles with telling his loved ones the truth about their future - he tries to change circumstances when he can, but how do you tell someone that they are dying? Joel is cursed with the knowledge of the future in the story, and it is his constant struggle that makes the story poignant and at the same time, engaging to the end. As the story unfolds, the emotional rollercoaster beckons the reader - Joel dreads the future, while Callie lives in denial while thriving in the present. It makes me question, again and again. How would one ever handle the knowledge of the future?
