I loved Garon and Emma, and Jessie... so adorable...
Simon and Gray were lovable too. The first book in a long time where I felt like that.
There was a bit of suspense going on which was mostly solved, but now I have to read the next book if I want to get those answers... Which I hate...

Good start to the series. Some parts confused me, but I'm thinking it will make more sense as the world expands.

I hope there is even more of Garon in the coming books.

It's rare that I don't know how to review a book.  Usually I have a lot to say, whether it's the things I adored or the things I hated - sometimes a bit of both.  Really though, all I can say is that I greatly enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next two books with the other two couples the author set us up with in this book.

I adored Simon and Gray (and little Garon was great too).  And I enjoyed the supporting cast as well.  I look forward to getting to know the previously mentioned other couples in the next books.  I really enjoyed the world set up here and want to get right back in and explore some more!

If you like shifters, magic, vampires, something sweet with no angst and a bonus little mystery, this is for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed the magic element, but the romance was not the main feature of the plot.

A lightly amusing book but heavy-handed and inelegant. It was well edited, but the writing was really stiff. Names were used far too often to feel natural and the plot progressed seemingly without need of the characters. Certainly, they never appeared to put much effort into anything, as problems were so easily overcome.

While both Simon and Gray were likeable characters, everything about the book felt rushed. The romance was almost instantaneous, with no buildup at all. The fights were won in a matter paragraphs. The bad guy was defeated almost effortlessly. And the vast majority of the book was dedicated to domestic affairs—BBQs, sleeping arrangements, bonding with children, getting to know relatives, etc.

If you're looking for an action-packed m/m PNR, this is not the book for you. If you're more interested in comfortable, heartfelt declarations of eternal love, it might be. Me, personally, I have very little use for so many floating hearts and flowers. Meh.

Now this is what I was looking for in a shifter romance - the romance!

This one really surprised me.
I've stopped reading paranormal / fantasy / werewolve / vampire stories time ago because after some good books were very successful a lot of new books of this genre were released and a lot of crap.
I've read this one for a challenge and didn't have high expectations. I didn't expect such an entertaining and fun read with great characters, unique settings and interesting world building. I really liked the mage story, the triangel idea of magic. And I liked Simon and Gray especially as a couple.
I would read another one if there ever is a sequel.
And it kind of reconciled me with this genre.

Really liked this fantasy novel, so nearly 5 stars. I will definitely be reading the others in this series. Loved how all the paranormal beings were intertwined and introduced to us.

This first book in the series sets up an interesting world and has me anticipating the next to books eagerly.

Simon is a mage working to complete his apprenticeship and become a full mage. After he rescues a group of wolf pups who have been kidnapped and are being drained of their magic he comes into contact with the alpha of their pack and they discover a connection.

The story is mysterious and interesting. I suspected the villain pretty quickly and was sure after a later brief comment. There are some significant plot holes and things I need of much more explanation. The ending to the crisis moment ends pretty unsatisfactorily and I can only hope there is more information to come in the next book.

There are great secondary characters and I look forward to reading more about this world.
