Not much to say that I haven't already said about the previous book - classic feel mission, and lots of daring ranger stunts. I had initially really, really hoped that Maddie might have a thing with the prince. No such luck, though, as the prince in question is an ugly brat.

I might finally be getting too old for these books. While I enjoy that they essentially come in pairs (the setup for the mission with the turn of the screw, then the resolution in the next), I felt like there wasn't enough tension built. Everything seemed to go according to plan. I think my biggest critique is that the books don't seem to be about Maddie. They tend to focus on Will and Halt instead, even though this series is supposed to be constructed around her... The Royal Ranger... Maybe that's just me.

But the nostalgia factor is so high for me, I'd still probably read the next book.

once again amazing - i love these books and these characters so much that there isnt much that could stop me from buying every new part of the series until my flanagan-shelf gives in (which, by the way, can take at least 10 more books, just to make that clear)
