Every weekday afternoon Joel Raner leaves work and heads to Chocolate Dreams for a taste of their delicious truffles…and a brief chat with Italian chocolatier Aaron Giadano. Joel has it bad for Aaron, but he’s been hurt before and doesn’t want to risk his heart by trying to turn his casual friendship with Aaron into something more romantic.

Aaron has a different plan, however. He’s in love with Joel and with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, the sexy chocolatier is ready to go after the man of his dreams.

Chocolate Dreams has all the sweetness of its titular confection mixed in with the energy of a sugar high. Em Woods dishes out a tasty treat of a story, complete with two heroes you’ll adore watching fall in love. Aaron has all the passion of an Italian romance hero and Joel balances him out with his cautious attitude. They complement one another, but each makes mistakes on their road to falling in love. There’s a bit of jarring push and pull between the two in Chocolate Dreams, something that would perhaps have flowed a bit smoother if the story were in a longer format. Still, if you’re looking for a snappy, romantic Valentine’s Day tale that has all the sensual decadence of some really good chocolate, look no further than Chocolate Dreams.
