Now that Webster City has been taken over by the Freedom Alliance, Carl Davidson never knows, day to day, if it will be his last. The Alliance would have killed him out right, except for the fact that he did save the world.

As for the city, one tyrant has been replaced by another, and not much has changed except for the retribution being dished out. When Carl is given a task by the leader he halfheartedly accepts, but wonders what the real reason is for him to do the job. Things are never as they seem.

This is an easy to read dystopian thriller and thoroughly enjoyable. It continues on from [b:Webster City|33292032|Webster City (Carl Davidson, #1)|Peter Menadue|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1481228552l/33292032._SY75_.jpg|54022101] and set 300 years into the future as the world rebuilds from a virus that killed most of the people.

This is why I read.
