Wow, just wait a minute...

So in summary we have a complete immature sex obsessed teenager that can see the future and rewind time... So of course what ever writer does with a potential story line like that, they ruin it to focus on romance. And a toxic one at that...

At the end of the book the last few lines are well awful. That is not how you end a book and get people to carry on, that is just some straight up manure. Very disappointed in this book, it started off not bad, not great but not bad and so I was lulled into a false sense of "hey this is okay". 78% through and my eyes opened and I was wondering why nothing was happening.

We focus purely on the stupid interactions between 'Zellie'?! and Avery. I dislike both, Claire is also up there with why are these characters so wet. The most emotion you feel is when Zellie (dear god) throws rocks at his car. An interaction that makes no sense!!!

Theres no climax, the most that happens is they discover theres a male seer, which apparently is a shocker for them. This isn't explained, its just stuck right there as if the editor went quick you need a shocking part. Anti-climax or what?

This book quite frankly fails. It has so so soo much potential and I was enjoying it until half way through when I am waiting for a goal other than Zellie (ergh) and Avery are in love but its doomed (WaWaWaaaaa) which hey that is great, that part of the storyline would help because it gives her a little purpose. But why when you have created such a big big storyline of 'seers' do you then stick to something small and make your characters so boring. Theres more to life than Romance, I wish authors would wake up and smell the coffee!!

Interesting and exciting despite some bumps (note, typo in the first sentence is off putting). I liked the characters, I loved visiting Portland, and the plot was strong enough to keep me interested when the pacing slowed.

This book seemed to take ages to get to the exciting point and then it fizzles. Bit it was an interesting concept. Very easy to trade - young adults would enjoy it.

*MINOR SPOLIERS*
I wanted to like this book. I really did. It started well, I enjoyed reading from Zellie's POV. She made me laugh with her crazy (and quite realistic) thoughts. But when it got to her 16th birthday party, everything went downhill.
The major plot twist turned the story around, suddenly we were dealing with the future deaths of her friends and family. It was all a bit intense, and it was Zellie's reaction that ruined it. She simply brushed it off, thinking nothing of it.
The story continued to get worse as she fell in 'love' with Avery. There relationship is so boring and unrealistic, I could cry.
Worst was the big climax. It was pathetic, honestly, just ridiculous.
I could go on but I will end here. Here's some advice: Don't waste your time with this one.

This book was cliché at best and downright simple at worst. It is a slow-moving, meandering plot based in insincere feelings. But to be honest, I gave up on this book when two of the main characters conclude a newly introduced male character is gay because he used theater slang and has highlights. Awful.

I wasn't a big fan of this book in the beginning, but it gradually got better and better. I think that the character development was good, but Zellie's major crush verging on obsession with Avery was a little much. It got to the point where it wasn't realistic. But, I got past that. I loved the fantasy and paranormal aspects of this book, and I think that it was the best part of the story. It gets really interesting when Zellie learns more about her abilities from her "dead" grandma and her great aunt. I'd recommend this for a quick, easy read. I'm not sure if I will continue of reading the Zellie Wells series because this was just an ok first book. I found that it was lacking the qualities to drag the reader back in to the next chapter and the next book.

I came across this book as a free iTunes download. Once I stated reading I got sucked into the story. Unlike many of the YA paranormal novels I have recently read I actually like the character of Zellie and she is one I would like to have as a friend if she was real. Adults are involved in the life of the teens and they are not just mini-adults who happen to attend high school. I like the idea of Zellie having glimpses into the future - this is something as humans that we could possibly experience unlike becoming a wolf, vampire, or angel. I'm looking forward to the next book which I already downloaded.
