Harley Quinn and Power Girl by Jimmy Palmiotti, Stéphane Roux, Amanda Conner

Zany, and a bit raunchier than I expected. It's wonderful seeing Harley Quinn separate from the Joker, while maintaining a formula that works best for her character: duo-ing with someone her frenetic energy can interact and bounce off of. I feel like Harley as the main focus works  best for origin-story-time and plots with short attention spans. 💁🏼‍♂️

Well… this was a time? This was like reading a superhero Zack & Miri Make a Porno space opera short story.
I really like the team-up of Harley and Power Girl, but Power Girl as a character felt so stilted and Harley seemed to try hard? As though the authors were trying to make them perfect foils to each other, but it was just too much, especially along with the absolutely ridiculous plot of them being sent to another universe, only to land on what is essentially a lust planet that’s been taken over by a purity police version of Thanos.
With that setup, there are TONS of sex jokes set up, but all of them are pretty juvenile. Then there’s tons of fan service with both Harley and Power Girl, even though they literally fight a guy done up like slave Princess Leia. I mean, come on! Ya’ll couldn’t have played that up even more?
The ending of the fight was unexpected, but then things take this odd turn, a strange detour, before returning to the main focus of trying to get home. The final issue was just too much and felt like they were really dragging out the story.
In the end, it was fine, but totally missed the opportunity for a lot more fun.

A cute and fun read, which is the kind of content I usually enjoy best from DC. I didn't really feel like the inside art was as cartoony as it probably needed to be to be honest. Like it wasn't bad art by any means, it just...didn't fit the atmosphere of the writing really. Also, although I get a kick out of Vartox is small doses, this book had a bit too much of him for my taste...in many, many ways.

PG and Harley were both on point though as far as the writing goes and I got a huge kick out of the joke about how Power Girl doesn't have her own ongoing comic.

This felt a bit unfocused plotwise for me.
Liked the unlikely team-up of Power Girl and Harley.
Plus really loved the moment where we have Harley talking about leaving a toxic relationship.

This is a fun and irreverent team up joining Harley Quinn and an amnesiac Power Girl on a distant planet. The art is fittingly cartoony and the writing is thoroughly entertaining.
