Two stars for a book and possibly a series that you want to skip.

The story started interesting, and the plot move along, not a fast speed, but at a bearable rhythm. Then, all of a sudden, the book was over. Everything that was to be discovered is discovered, and that should've been the end.

Unfortunately, this happens somewhere around 60-70% of the book, which makes the rest the most boring thing I've read recently. Such a pointless bunch of pages that I cannot understand why they weren't removed completely from the book. It really hurts the novel and makes it one of the worse things I've read.

Trust me. Move along and skip this one.

The cover of this book caught my attention while I was browsing the shelves at my local library and I immediately grabbed it. The blurb and cover alone made me want to read it. It gave off The Silent Patient vibes, which I enjoyed reading, so I had high hopes that I’d like this one, too.

I was immediately hooked within the first few pages. If I could have ignored all adulting and mom things I would have read this in one sitting. The twists kept twisting and I was shocked more with each one.

Olivia has gone through quite a lot and has also witnessed quite a lot and because of this she doesn’t speak and isn’t familiar with most of the outside world.

Ryan, an FBI consultant and psychologist, does his best to help Olivia help them learn about the case of the Copeland County Killer.

This story takes us on a wild ride through what Olivia witnessed and the life she had.

It’s very emotional at points. Please check the trigger warnings. This is a very real situation so what is laid out can be triggering to some.

3.75 Stars, but rounding up to 4

This book honestly broke my heart for not only Oliva, but for all the girls that got taken, and their families. There were parts of this book that tugged on my heart strings so much. Jennifer Hunter did such a great job describing how the events that took place affected the characters .
SpoilerI truly thought the story was going to end in the middle when Oliva died, however I'm happy that at least one of the girls was able to escape, and hopefully went on to live a good life along the Oregon coast

Although this was a hard one to finish given the subject matter, it still kept you hooked and the writing was superb. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

The Lost Victim. I loved this book. It was amazing. It was fantastic. It was mind numbing. And it was good.
The writer did a phenomenal job at writing a story that tapped into her readers imagination. The plot was so out there, but was terrific for our main character Ryan. Ryan did a great job as the guide that takes the readers to all those dark places, but he remains the light that guides the victim and you out with his knowledge and caring words of comfort. I loved the that the writer told the story through the victims eyes and experiences. Simply amazing.
All the characters were amazing. It was like you were right there with them as they charge on through this emotionally charged, rage, hatred and defeated investigation. The book is an easy read and a superb page turner. I give this book two snaps and a, be aware of your surroundings and always bring a friend along. Until next time my fellowship readers. Read on!
