Where did I stop? 30% in

Why? The voice just wasn’t doing it for me. The main character came off as really standoffish, which I think was the point, however not only was she standoffish with other characters in the book, she was standoffish from a reader perspective. I just couldn’t connect with her. The writing was rather plain as well. While it’s not like I like a ton of flourish, it was just very basic and portrayed everything in an almost clinical tone that wasn’t grabbing me. All the flair is in the cover, and it’s a gorgeous cover. But what’s on the pages leaves something to be desired, unfortunately.
