DNF. No spoilers, but there was one scene that mentions children that I really didn't like. Might pick up the next book in the series, but this turned me off for a while. Writing was ok, although I found it strange that it's published with sans serif font.

Entre con muchas expectativas y en cierta forma me sentí decepcionada porque no conecté con la historia como hubiera querido.

This book gave me a whole Star Trek vibe and I loved it. Olivia gets Acquired (Kidnapped) from her apartment in the middle of the night after work and is focused to work alongside different alien races to save a group of humans from a human-alien-trafficking ring. Olivia was chosen because of her job as a criminal profiler. Olivia and the Commander are forced to work alongside each other are they try to free the humans from harm.

The book is well written and Pierce does a good job of making sure that even as we are getting induced by these different aliens, it doesn't become too overwhelming and we get to learn as Olivia does. The information isn't hard to follow and that makes the story a lot easier to understand.

The pace of the story is perfect it's not an opps I got kidnapped now I'm in love, we get to see how they both struggle with their feelings and understanding of each other's culture during the book.

The author takes the abduction to seduction trope and flips it on hits head. The FMC is a behaviorist for the L.A. police department. She is abducted by the commander of an alien ship who needs her to teach him how to be a convincing connoisseur of human flesh as he is on a mission to infiltrate a pleasure ship trafficking in human cargo.

This story is brilliant and wildly unique. I prefer high stakes and a deeper plot in my alien romance and this checked all the boxes. The first half of the book is dedicated to bringing down the trafficking ring and the required proximity of the main characters allows them to get to know one another so that respect, awe, and attraction can bloom. The latter half of the book is dedicated to settling the rescued humans on another planet as well as their burgeoning romance. Beautifully done.

sloooow burn // HEA // forced proximity // over 30 FMC // alien MMC who looks like an alien // bonded mates // possessive // protective // mutual awe and respect // spice but not until the end

i loved one of the best alien romance i've read in a long time, i highly recommend it, plus the main character is a BAMF, and i find that great, she's never a damsel in distress and she could save herself. very entertaining and quick to read, i got a little lost with the POV but overall i loved it.

I think I've just found a new 1 click author

I'm not typically one for leaving reviews, but when I read a book that grips me from page 1 then I have to .
I love how Olivia is so capable, competent and just a general badass in her area of expertise, I love a " this woman is good at her job" trope ,if that's not a trope it should be because I eat that sh!t up.
Our lovely commander I wanted to give him a bloody good shake to pull his head out his a$$ but it all paid off in the end.

I loved the initial scenes of them exploring each other and her teaching him about humans
