This book was so stupid, it makes me want to cry. I love Howl’s Moving Castle, so I really wanted to love this book too. But this book was possibly the most predictable book ever written, and I think knowing every twist and turn miles from when it happened was detrimental to my opinion of the book.

I will say, the magic is good and it has some really lovely qualities, and I’m older than the target audience so my opinion might not be the most relevant one to listen to. But I think reading a couple of her other books that I really enjoyed set my expectations of this one too high, and it ultimately wasn’t able to live up to them.

Magical and fun. This could've been a new favorite...
Although, I couldn't get attached to the characters. After finishing the book, I still feel like I don't know them at all. And that stopped me from being invested in the story.
Some really fun and interesting concepts were introduced, but they didn't feel grounded to me and made me not care for them as much as I wished to. Maybe I should read another part of this series someday.
