I forget which came first, but the Anime and Manga are very close to each other.

Unfortunately for Takasu Ryuuji, appearances can be deceiving.

Though a kind, considerate, and giving person at heart who takes care of of his single mom and the caretaking of the house, his sharp gaze, large build, and outwardly imposing looks make people think he is a delinquent. This is not great for making friends or finding a girlfriend.

When Ryuuji starts junior high, he’s hoping things will change. He’s got a good friend — handsome and studious Kitamura — and he’s met a kind and beautiful girl — Kusheida Minori. Things are really looking up!

That is, until Ryuuji quite literally bumps into Aisaka Taiga, the school’s diminutive but ultimate mean girl. Known as the “palmtop tiger”, she’s got a temper that more than makes up for her size.

The two immediately dislike each other. But, much to their dismay, they discover that each is best friends with the other’s crush. That, unfortunately, joins them in a common goal. After Aisaka unsuccessfully tries and fails to confess to Kitamura, Ryuuji decides to help her — so long as she helps him get with Kusheida.

Will the two be able to accomplish their goals? Or, will they find themselves more wrapped up in each other instead…?

Delightful so far! I’m so happy to finally be getting into this one!!! Will definitely be reading more~

I'm going to start this review by saying that I don't particularly gravitate towards YA contemporary, so its not surprising that I wasn't overly enamoured with this. I liked the story but nothing really happened. It was entirely focused around the fact that the two main characters had crushes on each others friends...and not much else. That being said I really liked what I read, its not mind-blowing, its nothing new but it was just a cute fluffy read.

Although both Takasu Ryuuji and Aisaka Taiga have their hearts set on someone else they are consistently thrown together. So much so that Taiga tends to stay at Ryuuji's, he cooks her dinner and all in the name of protecting their shared secret. The people they like. What they never notice is how people look at them when they're together ... like they're together.

I definitely want to continue reading this series. Like I said, its cute. I'm into it.

Have you read Torodora?

What did you think?

Thank-you for reading,

Katie x

I actually love this manga (and the anime), I just sorta started it and then didn't have any time to finish it. So I think later when I have enough time I'm going to sit down and appreciate it by reading it all the way through.

For plot, I would give this a 9/10, purely because I love the idea of this story. I think a lot of manga plots are very absurd and too complicated at times, but this basic but great plot was very ideal.

For characters I would give this a 8/10, I loved and ABSOLUTEY adored the "taiga". She was the cutest and has the most relatable appetite. I also think Ryuji is really funny, and I ship them. But the one flaw is Kitamura and Minori. UGH! Minori is too hyper and a walking stereotype. As for, Kitamura well... he just fell kind of flat for me.

For the world, I'd give a 10/10. I thought it seemed realistic and this story could happen IRL.

For style, I would say its 7/10 because the art was amazing!

But the only reason it wasn't a 10, was due to style of reading left to right. Yes Yes, I know I'm uncultured American trash, but it was hard to follow at times when the pictures/lines were stacked on top and out of order.

For Ending, well it was 5/1o just because it ended so suddenly. I know there's a lot more volumes but I just felt like it was too short. Although it ended on a cliffhanger, which was fine, I felt like it could've been at least 10-15 pages longer.

So all together 39/50 x 2 amounts to..... 78/100. Which I would round up to 4 stars.
