This story was wild! Annie was a hot mess express and while Paul wasn’t perfect, he didn’t deserve all of that.

Annie Wilkes is one of the most terrifying characters I've ever read. The book started to feel a bit long toward the end, which I've heard is a Stephen King trademark, but overall, solid—albeit disturbing—read.

Took me absolutely months and I couldn’t have been any more bored if I was watching paint dry. It’s not him. It’s me. I know. But I would have rather gauged my brain out with a rusty teaspoon through my ears that continue, by that point

And this is my most positive ever experience with King

Oh well

This book kept coming up in my search for 'best Stephen King book to start with' and while it was a gripping read I felt like the last 10-15% of the book I had to skim read a lot of it, similarly with some of my most recent read books I felt like the story was being dragged out. I liked the concept of 'number 1 fan turned murderous' but there were times I felt like screaming into the book asking Paul to find a way to get out of there! Overall a good read but not sure if this one is the best one to start with if there are better S.K books out there. Continuing on my quest to find the best S.K book!
