So if anyone was wondering the reading order, this DEFINITELY comes after the series. It kinda assumes you’ve already read the series (I’ve now read it before and after the rest of the books)

Anyway it’s just a cute little murder mystery novella. Nothing that special just provides insight on the rest of the series (which is that special)

Holly Jackson had me at "murder mystery dinner party." Highly recommend for those who loved the Good Girl's Guide to Murder series or for those who want a quick, light mystery read. I loved getting to see Pip - I mean, Celia Bourne heheh - and her friends before everything goes down. Ant is still annoying as all get out though; however, if it wasn't for his annoying comments alongside a particular sighting at the novella's conclusion we wouldn't have the events play out in the main series as they did.

I really enjoyed this, it is a great prequel to AGGGTM and creates a tense atmosphere.
I will say I was surprised at the amount of swearing in this book for a YA book. It does say on the back “not for younger readers” but I wouldn’t consider giving this to anyone under 16.

Only Holly Jackson would have the skill to make a lighthearted murder mystery party such an engaging story. Such a fun addition to the GGGTM series

I love this book with my whole heartttt it was such a quick read and THIS THIS book is one of the reasons now why I love the agggtm series. I loved pip in this book and the murder mystery party was so well set up!!
I never could've guessed HE was the killer- pippas points were so valid and I could kinda understand about her not wanting to be wrong, academic validation makes us think that?
Eitherway the book was VERY fast paced and I finished it in 2 hours in one sitting, and the characters were somewhat loveable I guess, I love Cara and pips yk 'friendship' girl bffs really are the besttt and I HATED ant so freaking much I hated his character in agggtm, good girl bad blood, and in as good as dead and now kill joy 😭 he's the type of character you wish you could punch by his 'funny' dialogs, and Lauren was somewhat very pick me imo, anyways that's it I'm not gonna go very deep into why she's a pick or the other characters😭
Totally recommend it was easily a

OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS LIKE LISTENING TO AN ORIGIN STORY!
seriously those last two chapter were like listening to psychology of a killer, and i 100% agree with her conclusions

After reading the "A Good Girls Guide to Murder" series, I had higher hopes for this book, but it wasn't that bad. It was a fun read, and if you want to read the entire series, I would recommend reading this first, because it really kind of got the series started.
