I really enjoyed this novella. I thought it was a fun light read and it still kept me reading.

It's best to be read after you read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder since this novella doesn't require any characterization after you read the first book. I thought the murder mystery dinner was a great a light thought-experiment to get Pip into solving murders and how she thinks.

Just to be clear, the novella is not really connected to the series other than characters from A Good Girl's Guide to Murder are in there and it shows what sparks Pip's idea for her senior project.

This was a cute quick read! It does lay some nice groundwork for the first book in this series while also being light enough that it doesn’t feel like a true thriller. I enjoyed it!

A wonderful short story with a fun mystery and a great look back at AGGGTM's lovable cast of characters. I really liked the slow twisting together of clues and trying to solve the mystery along with Pip. It also did a good job of showing her get into mystery-solving, even if it didn't give her REAL motivation for the Andie Bell case like I thought it would. It was very Pip. The only negative point for me was that they kept switching between their real names and their fake character names and it confused me lol.
Also Pip's answer was so good and true. Though I kind of knew it was too complicated for a murder mystery game. I liked it wayyyy better.

I finished this book in two hours and in one sitting.

The made-up story of Reginald Remy was so interesting and had so many twists in it. I did not expect the ending because it was just too easy. I agreed with Pip on that.

The small cliffhangers at the end of each chapter really kept me invested the entire time. Holly Jackson writes in a way that keeps you hooked and lets you get lost in the story. It has just enough description to make you imagine the setting perfectly and yet, it's still not boring.

It was nice to see Pip's backstory and just to read about her again. I adored the small references to the original books in the trilogy.

It was a great novel all-in-all and I would definitely recommend it.

And it had been good, right up until the end. The whole world outside this house had disappeared, it had been just her and her mind and a problem to solve. Exactly the way she liked it. Exactly when she was most herself.

I liked this novella. I'm glad I read it after the rest of the series. I feel like it makes more sense this way.

It was fun trying to find the murderer. I was going in the same direction as Pip.

I liked how it introduced the rest of the series.
