My official rating is 1.5 stars. Rosie only really acted like a friend at the end. Aaron is forceful, possessive in the worst way and demanding. Lina really just needs therapy. My biggest problem with this is the ownership of Lina. Both of them keep assuring the other that they belong to them which would be kind of cute if Aaron didn't physically pick her up all the time as if she cant walk and if he didn't decide so many things for her.
Spoiler
Lina knows Gerald is a racist sexist pig and yet she's shocked when he gets angry at her sleeping with her new boss? You really thought Gerald of all people would be on board with that? Running away is fine she didn't want her professional colleagues to see her cry but to IMMEDIATELY dump Aaron because of a guy she knew wouldn't approve in the first place is so incredibly dumb. Almost like she never wanted to date Aaron because of unresolved trauma from Daniel. She works a nice job she could have absolutely afforded therapy. There were a few parts that sounded like a 12yr old's Wattpad fanfic but contrastingly the second to last chapter just sounded like inspirational word vomit. It was so cheesy and bad that I'm actually surprised the book isn't sold with a babybel. Peak Aaron was when he was meeting the family he just went downhill after that.
Also 97% of the plot happens in the last 5 chapters. You should probably just stick to those 5.

Edit: Someone said Aaron is the reason they raised their standards for men and I am sobbing. 😭 What planet do we live on now? I don’t want to be here anymore. Good men exist, and they are not love-bombing, possessive, borderline stalkers like Aaron. “But he really loves her!” No- he’s obsessed with her! Find better, don’t settle for the first guy who says he’ll do anything for you, or the second, or the third. 🙄 Know your worth.
Graphic: Cursing and Sexual content
Moderate: Bullying
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Death of parent, Grief, and Racism
After chapter 20, it is just entirely too graphic in sexual nature for there not to have been a warning or label. I’m sure there’s books with much more depiction but for a lighthearted read, I was disappointed because this is why I DNF this book. There’s also a ridiculous amount of cussing, like an amount that makes me question if the author is getting paid for each word because I’ve never heard anyone use that much vulgar language consistently in real life. There are mentions of inappropriate sexual relationships, loss of parents, and a hint of racism and/or sexism that the main character experiences.se6500's review against another edition
