The sibling relationship between Daunis and Levi was a highlight in the first half of the book, and as the mystery unraveled in the final chapters, I found myself unable to tear my eyes away from the pages.
"Firekeeper's Daughter" resonated deeply with me, and I consider it the best book I've read so far this year. I'm incredibly grateful to have experienced such an incredible story and eagerly anticipate exploring more of Angeline Boulley's work, especially the sequel to this captivating novel.

Once I was hooked though that was it. I finished the book in a matter of hours because I just had to know how it ended and if Justice was served. There are many lessons to be learned from this book. Lots of little tidbits of information that I can remember my grandmother telling me that I had almost forgotten. If nothing else, it’s a good read for those tidbits alone.

How seamlessly Boulley was able to weave together the book with Indigenous teachings is amazing. I don’t even know if that’s right as the cultural teachings are so vital to the story and the characters and make this book so amazing.
Every once and a while I read a book that I think should be read in high school because of the story, the writing, the themes, and characters and this is one of them.
