Aggressively mediocre. I think my problem is that these characters are newly 18 and I'm uncomfortable reading about characters so young in adult contexts like this. Also they have no personality at all. They're boring. The conflict between them is fine-

one of them (I honestly can't remember which) ditched mc2 bc of internalized homophobia so mc2 lashed out verbally at mc1's gf and phsycially at mc1 himself. Theres also conflict with one of the mc's parents being homophobic but it resolves pretty well

. 

I found this uncompelling so I was uninvested.

I was going to cry again, so I kissed him instead and let go of the past, taking hold of joy with both hands.

This was the perfect feel good story about redemption and love and sexy times under the (metaphorical) mistletoe. Take hold of joy with both hands, my friends. :)
