David and Noah have been best friends since boarding school, but how long have they been in love with each other? I love a friends to lovers relationship and the taboo nature of their lives during this times period put an interesting spin on the romance.

A bit repetitive at parts
Spoiler(I'm going to the estate, I'm not, I am, I'm not after all), and not quite the happy ending in the final chapter,
but overall a nice love story about childhood friends.

I absolutely loved this book. This was a second in the series but it read perfectly fine as a standalone. I loved both of the MC's so much. They were so sweet and tender and I couldnt get enough!!! I have never read a Jess Everlee book before but now I cannot wait to read more!!

*Read this back in July but forgot to update on here!

this was more compelling than book 1 to me, and the dramatics more evenly distributed so they fit instead of feeling out of place. once again, i wish it was longer and there was some stuff that i wanted sorted out in more detail/ actually explained. but the story carried itself better in this one so that makes me happy. sometimes i read an author's debut and go "this was pretty decent. i can't wait for their next books" and then the next books suck. not this one!!!! this is an excellent example of an author doing a better job with the next book. love that for them.
