A well written biography...I think it could get many people interested in history

The Hamilton nerd in me wanted to like this one way more than I did.
I came into it with some background knowledge (I mean -- listening to the Hamilton soundtrack one billion times counts, right!?) and I still struggled to follow along. I felt like the elevated vocabulary and sentence structure, as well as the excerpts from the primary documents, made it unnecessarily difficult. It felt regularly felt choppy and disjointed.
I was hoping that Hamilton's story told via graphic novel would help to make history interesting for some of my kids who don't buy into it, but I think this one would unfortunately reinforce the same old stereotype -- that these stories are boring and better left in the past.

The way the artist drew a character’s reaction to something was really amusing.

Well done biography of Alexander Hamilton for those now willing to read or wanting something more after Chernow's volume.

this would’ve been a lot better if it was longer, less informative and had more dialogue. the illustrations were fantastic, but there was so much information. it was very info—dumpy in comparison to the amount of dialogue and and page count.

Great adaptation. Found a few spelling and grammar mistakes.

3.5/5 stars. I liked the style of art, it was quite beautiful in some pages. I feel like this is a hard book to rate as it was quite an informational one and those I feel aren't often enjoyed so to speak as they are appreciated. It was p good I thought, but I would have liked it to focus on a more personal note perhaps just bc that's what I like as a reader, though I suppose some details are too questionable to include as they aren't fact. Still was p interesting to see the story play out, history is wild. (also lmao it took me a whole year to get around to this book and i actually started reading it last night to finish it today so idk why it took me so long)

Definitely easier to read than the popular 800+ page text by Ron Chernow. Simplified, yet still informative enough to give readers a good grasp of the time period and the subject.
Illustrations were also good, though I'll admit it took me a while to get a real grasp on who was who, since so many of them looked alike. But that's partially a sign of the times - hair styles and dress were strict.

This was just okay. I liked the straightforward nature of the book, it was certainly more interesting to read than a textbook about Hamilton, but it's not really my thing. I would definitely assign this book to a class of middle schoolers to read instead of a traditional textbook because it's faster to read and more engaging. I don't know very much about Hamilton so it was interesting to read about some of the more historical aspects of his nature and decisions.

I've loved Hennessey's previous work, and this lives up to what I expect from him!
