A tidy cozy mystery. As the British know how to write. Perfect for listening.

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was great as were the characters. The only problem I had with it is that DC Smith is a bit too perfect. I think he needs a flaw. A bit like superman and that is why it got 4 stars instead of 5. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Woof. I wanted to like this book for the sake of the mystery and British-ness of it. But it's basically copaganda and the mild jokes that hint of sexism and homophobia are cringe. There's got to be better detective fiction/crime fiction than this.

Listened to the audiobook, which is a very pleasant listen both of the narrator and the narrative.
DS Smith proves that the old methods of being a police detective work just as well in the new world—a notebook, an eye for detail, a nose for what is ever-so-slightly out of the ordinary that leads to bigger and bigger things.

This had a bit of a slow middle, but got very funny and fast in the last quarter of the book. I was surprised by the dry humor, it had me really laughing in some places.
