The characters were really good particularly Cross’. Although I couldn’t relate to him on every level I sympathise and empathise with him. I really enjoyed the fact that he was very thorough to. His quirkiness also made me laugh at times too.
The other characters weren’t as well developed. But I don’t think that detracted from the story or the style of writing.
Very twists interns are plenty. A great police procedural

A solid if unspectacular start to the series. The author spent so much time and effort stressing Cross's lack of emotional response that the story came across similarly flat and monotonal. One positive from the unappealing portrayal of Cross was that it made me grateful that the two friends I have who are on the spectrum, one with Asperger's and his autistic brother, are both more complex and relatably human 3-dimensional people than Cross

I heard this author on the crimetime fm podcast, and it encouraged me to give the first in the series a go. Sullivan is both a screenwriter and director, and his ability to pace a page turning thriller and filmic touch is evident.
I liked the characters, particularly DS Cross, the Bristol detective whose aspergers diagnosis makes him difficult to work with, but an equally brilliant investigator.
In thistle discovery of a body proves to be that of a dentist who disappeared over 10 years before triggers the investigation into a cold crime which opens a lot of od wounds. I'm looking forward to more of this series

The Dentist introduced a new police procedural to my list of favourite mystery series.

George Cross works a case that spans two decades and two murders. His attention to detail, easily distracted by the white noise of life, helps him to focus on items that others have missed. His fastidiousness doesn't win him friends - indeed, I was put off by him at the start - but quickly draws reluctant admirers who see the extraordinary detection he achieves.

In the end, I really enjoyed this mystery. Although some of the twists were telegraphed far ahead, others took me by surprise. I'm looking forward to the next offering from this author.

Fairly easy book to read. Took a while to get into the book and understand the characters and see what type of read it was going to be

Once you get into it tho it is a good book. Liked the ending and was an easy read. Will probs read the next one lol
